The Countdown Begins

And so begins my quest to play, review, and grade every single NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) game ever made.  I am in my 20's and was a child of the 80's.  Some of these game hold fond memories...but may turn out to be much worse than I remember.  Some I've never played...and maybe be the game I always wanted.  We'll see.

Grading guidelines are as follows:

A  ... A great game with so little, if any, flaws that they're hardly thought of at all.  A game ahead of its time that holds up to today's standards.  Games like this made Nintendo what it is.  Thoughtful designers helped make this a true video game that captured our imaginations and are responsible for gamers loving what they do.

B ... A fun trip back to the past and an exciting, fun NES game that just lacks a thing or two, as evidenced by the write-ups that an "A" game would receive.  These games are GOOD.  The designers put effort into them and were looking out for the entire brand, not just rushing a game out to make a few bucks.

C ... A game that has some fun aspects but lacks the game design effort to truly make it stand out.  It has flaws and it has appeal.  Average, as the letter indicates.  Unfortunately for many "C" games, just a little more effort could have gotten them over the hump.

D ... A game offering little challenge with a plethora of problems.  Lazy game-making, rush job, or just a clone of something superior.  However, it does offer a nice thing or two.

F ... A flat-out miserable experience playing this game.  A broken, rushed, or simply lazy game.  Avoid at all costs.
